Jasmine Golestaneh

Jasmine Golestaneh was born in the swamps of Florida, and comes from a long line of Persian Latvians that materialized from algae infested waters. She grew up in London, then took up dueling at Oxford University where she graduated with a BA in History. Shortly after, she put down the sword to head for New York City where she still lives, writes and performs music with her band Tempers, and creates hand made collages.

Tempers melts low-lit poetic synth-pop with hints of techno, shoegaze and post-punk. The 2015 debut album Services featured the underground dance floor hit "Strange Harvest," followed by the acclaimed LPs Private Life (2019) and New Meaning (2022) on Dais Records. Tempers' art-world sensibility has led to collaborations beyond the traditional music sphere, including Junkspace (2018), a concept album created in partnership with renowned architect Rem Koolhaas. The latest album, Delusion, was co-produced by Golestaneh and Jorge Elbrecht, and features collaborations with visual artists Camille Henrot, Sandra Mujinga and Estelle Hoy. The album was released on Fear of Luxury and distributed by Cascine / Secretly Distribution.Tempers has toured internationally, appearing at festivals in addition to headline performances at the ICA (London), Lodge Room (LA), Public Records (NYC), and Kantine am Berghain (Berlin). Tempers has been featured in publications including Artforum, Pitchfork, The Fader and V Magazine.
